For A Good Crane Purchasing

Customer Observances

Before Buying | During Buying | After Buying

 Before Buying

If your building, foundation or installation is still in the projecting period, then you should no doubt take into account the followings;

  1. Chose the type and capacity of the crane mostly suitable for your needs.
  2. Contact with some of the experienced well known crane manufacturing companies (especially) for designing the type and sizes of building and deciding the critical dimensions needed. Please don't forget that faults and mistakes mostly are made at this stage of the project.
  3. However, if your building is almost finished or already present, then entirely check the critical dimensions and the capacities of columns, consoles and concrete and steel units roughly with your project engineer and/or crane manufacturer companies.
  4.

  5. Contractor firms for construction mostly built lower ceiling heigths, smaller or higher working gaps for cranes between consoles and ceilings and improper dimensions of consoles and columns. For monorail cranes mostly they put ie, the out loading doors at the same side and line at all flats of the buildings.

 During Buying

To Choose The Right Manufacturing Company:
When puchasing a crane you face lots of choices. Understanding the manufacturing proceses and what the crane must move in your work-shop, site or factory is a given. To find the right crane, decisions must be made on the speeds, capacities, lifts and options that make it the best possible.

Bayursan builds quite a series and types of cranes to match customer needs about 30 years. Customers can chose FEM group of their cranes via automatic calculations on the web site. We advice you to take an hour and watch your similar operation. How many lifts, trolley movements and bridge movements were made. What was the avarage length of each movements. What was the actual motor on time for each direction.

For overhead bridge cranes (EOT Cranes) and gantry cranes (portal cranes) Bayursan builds cranes mostly after conducting on-site consulting, providing advice on the features and benefits, and then quoting sensible options from which to choose.

The Most Common Upgrades:

  • Variable Speed Controls
With frequency converter especially for travelling of trolley and bridge (besides hook) precise increases and decreases in speed to solve the problem of swinging loads caused by on-off controls. Allows for finite and sensible placements of loads.
  • Independent Pendant Push Button Control
Allows operator to stand far away from the large or hot loads on the hook, along the main (cross) girders.
  • Remote Controls
Allows operators to control crane from quite distant locations in the factory or on site, an added degree of safety for dangerous loads. The operators should be careful and experienced enough for (such) crane operations since they may be far away the loadings.
  • All Gears in Boxes
Bayursan builds overhead cranes and gantry cranes with all gears in their gear boxes running in their oil baths. No gears out, except for monorails trolley tractions.
  • Oversizing The Capacity Of The Crane
For a customer no need to add a safety factor, because we already do. In some cases only, a few of the customers in market may think to buy cheeper and lower capacity crane since rarely they need maximum loadings. This is wrong and risky approach. If you lift no more then 10 tons, buy a 10 tons crane. Look for the Selection Tables of Bayursan for FEM groups.

 After Buying

Most Common Mistakes:

  • Most of the customers do very little preventative maintenance, especially to equipment 7-8 meter above the floor
  • Most of the operators, after the brake pads wear out (in 1-2 years), learn to "reverse plug" to stop the crane. This quick "reversing to stop" causes the gear box and contactors to wear out in a short time, and cause defects.
  • Often when a crane stops, so does productivity. Sometimes a few dollars more on better quality equipment is the least expensive solution.
  • Customers should strictly obey the safety instructions, inspection and maintenance schedule, lubrication operations, service schedule, operation instructions etc. given by their crane manufacturing company.
