STEEL WIRE ROPES Today mainly more than 30 different types of steel wire ropes are recommended for different applications of industry. In mining, oil, elevators, aerial tramway, marina, fishing, ship, yacht, hoist, crane and general engineering industries mostly standard wire ropes are arranged from 160 kgf/mm2 (1570 N/mm2) up to 220 kgf/mm2 (2160 N/mm2) of loading capacities at 4 categories 160, 180, 200 and 220 kgf/mm2 and as a special type 250 kgf/mm2. Steel wire ropes are very important in crane industry, since they are the start points when design. Bayursan as a standard prefers;
18x7 steel cored wire rope is quite tough and multilayered strands oppositely lay around its core and hardly be bended on its rope drum, so tends to be slack and skip to other grooves especially when no load on the hook. 18x7 wire rope though do not loosen in its groove under load nor turn to make windings nor deform one on another even at higher lifting heights. 18x7 wire rope thus can be used at smaller rope drum diameters respectively. These ropes generally last longer because of their constructional design and thicker wire sizes. Bayursan for the sake of its perfect and patented rope guide mechanism use these ropes 6x36 wire ropes are more elastic and have more carrying capacities respectively and preferred for heavier loads.
